faq.

Who are you?

I am a carbon based biped. I live at the bottom of Africa, where carbon based bipeds are from originally. Of course, the Ebola virus is from Africa too. Draw your own conclusions.

What do you do?

I am multitalented. Right now I am using this laptop to type a FAQ entry, although whether this is a core competency likely to increase my net employment equity, it's a bit early to judge. I also breathe and sleep very effectively.

You talk funny.

So I'm told.

Your website is [daft\idiotic\offensive\stupid].

Luckily for you, you aren't being forced to read quinnreynolds.com at gunpoint (yet). Go somewhere else if we don't do it for you.

Some piece of your site is broken.

Bugger. Let me know what's wrong, and I might either fix it, or send you a snotty reply, whichever feels like it best suits the situation. Please note that sniveling about the ACME ShadesOfGreytm colour scheme does NOT count.

ACME ShadesOfGreytm?

Yeah, yeah, yuk it up. I got it cheap at a garage sale, and I don't hear any colourblind people complaining. Move along.

The pictures in your albums are too big to load.

Click the "low bandwidth" links on the albums page, and you'll link to smaller images.

The pictures in your albums are too small to see.

Sigh. Click on anything OTHER THAN the "low bandwidth" links on the albums page, and you'll link to reasonably sized images.

The pictures in your albums are either too big to load or too small to see. I want to view them in 848x229 deinterlaced letterbox.

We all want things we can't have.

Why don't you update the blog more often?

Very many blog gerbils suffer under the delusion that everything they do is interesting enough to tell the internet about it four times a day. This may possibly be true if you're Richard Branson, but it most certainly isn't if you're a 30-year-old engineer with a mortage. Most people only read this page once every couple weeks, but hey, if you really want to hear more (and more graphic) detail about my navel lint, that can always be arranged.

Help! The forum's gone!

Yes. Well, no, not actually. It's still there, but I've removed all links to it for now, and it will be disappearing shortly. Reasons - it was becoming a pain to maintain and keep secure, and it was the only third party piece of software on my site. This offended me, so I ditched it in favour of a blog comment system which is no doubt full of interesting quirks and bugs-that-will-later-be-known-as-features. See "Some piece of your site is broken" above.

I can't post comments on the blog.

You need to answer the number riddle to prove that you're not an EvilSpamBot(tm)! The number riddle consists of a group of three pictures of sets of blocks. Each picture represents (from the left) the hundreds, tens, and units of a decimal number. Eg: [three blocks] [seven blocks] [two blocks] would be 372.

Got Spaniel?

Aaaaaaaaah! I'm packing my bags for Greenland.

Where's Greenland?

Big place. Lots of ice. Don't worry your little head about it.

You're weird.

So I'm told. Now go play with your legos.
